The Opportunity

In both client-facing and internal roles, we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are committed to delivering safe, high-quality, and timely solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

Reporting to the Site Delivery Lead, you will support the overarching direction and leadership of activities associated with the full lifecycle delivery of the Temporary Construction Area sub-programme. You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Senior Project Managers and Managers to ensure the delivery of scope including Earthworks, Enabling works (UXO, ecology, archaeology), Civils, Networks, and Buildings. This role involves managing a matrix team of wider disciplines involved in project delivery, such as the nuclear new build supply chain, quality teams, and suppliers.

You will also assist the Site Delivery Lead in developing strategies for delivering scope on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Additionally, you will oversee the operational delivery of engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities or work packages in line with the overall project schedule.

Key responsibilities will be:
  • Collaborate with project teams to define work scope and interfaces within the programme.
  • Secure resources to meet project requirements, maintaining SQEP standards and addressing personnel issues promptly.
  • Provide direction to ensure effective execution of strategies and plans aligned with the Programme Execution Plan (PEP).
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and execute project strategies.
  • Drive contract or package activity delivery safely, on time, within budget, and meeting technical requirements.
  • Monitor project progress against milestones, deadlines, and budgets; report to the Site Delivery Leadership team.
  • Identify risks, resolve issues, and update project scope or budget as needed.
  • Develop and maintain schedules, escalate discrepancies, and ensure delivery of scope.
  • Apply continuous improvement principles and promote lessons learned.
  • Coordinate with other programmes for a high-level project overview and adopt best practices.
  • Ensure contractual requirements are fulfilled and foster effective team relationships.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience delivering projects in complex, regulated environments, preferably within Nuclear Energy.
  • Experience engaging multiple stakeholders and managing contractors and consultants on large projects with NEC and FIDIC contracts.
  • Excellent presentation, influencing, and organizational skills, with strong numerical and analytical abilities.
  • Detailed understanding of EPR design and experience.
  • Degree and chartered status in engineering, construction, or related field.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations and project management methodologies such as APM and Prince2.
  • Experience managing projects from concept to handover.
