About The Role

Location: Whipsnade Zoo,Central Avenue, Whipsnade, LU6 2LF

Salary:£16.25 per hour

We are looking to recruit a dedicated Site Manager to lead our cleaning and facilities services team at Whipsnade Zoo.

This is a site-based role, where you’ll take pride in ensuring high standards of service delivery, team leadership, and client satisfaction in a truly unique and inspiring environment. You’ll play a key role in maintaining both the cleanliness and safety of this iconic location—home to hundreds of animals and visited by thousands every year.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the on-site cleaning team, setting clear expectations and supporting staff to deliver high-quality results every day.

  • Managing rotas, holidays, and absence to ensure full site coverage and compliance with staffing levels.

  • Working closely with the client to respond to operational needs and maintain a strong, solution-focused partnership.

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date site documentation, including training records, audits, and risk assessments.

  • Ensuring health and safety standards are met and embedded in daily practice.

  • Supporting recruitment, training, and onboarding of new staff to maintain service continuity and performance.

  • Monitoring equipment, materials, and stock levels to ensure smooth operations.

  • Upholding Atlas FM values and ensuring a consistent, professional presence on site.

About You

    You’ll be someone who takes pride in delivering a first-class service, with a hands-on approach and a passion for leading teams. Ideally, you’ll have previous experience managing cleaning or FM teams in a fast-paced environment, and you’ll be comfortable managing daily operations while maintaining excellent client relationships.
