Job summary

Role: Site CDM Advisor / Principal Designer

For a major Industrial build & Plant Installation project

Location: Process Manufacturing Facility - South Yorks / Nottinghamshire

Salary/package: £55-60k pa + car allow. + pension + 25 days hol. & stats

Employment: 18-month FTC (likely permanent role thereafter)

G Force Recruitment is working on a confidential opportunity for an experienced Site CDM Advisor / Principal Designer to support a process installation project on a key customer processing facility.

This position will suit a candidate with a strong background in industrial & infrastructure installations, including pipework and plant capital equipment, and provide principal contractor services for construction works. The successful individual will act as a Site CDM Manager, during this period as well as still carrying out the H&S/CDM Advisory role.

The ideal candidate will be fully conversant with CDM 2015 requirements and confident in coordinating site activities, subcontractors, and resources while maintaining programme, quality, and safety standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee & audit number of operatives on site and all Subcontractors
• Write permits for the principal contractor and for any other subcontractors
• Oversee any significant activities affecting the site such as equipment deliveries or cranes, any significant Temporary works and the impacts on wider infrastructure or the operational site
• Confirmation of any operations permits required as a result of CDM activities
• Weekly check of Viewpoint drive and update / upload of salient information drawings, specifications, programmes, key milestone information, design change or non-conformance, captured also in Daily Reviews
• Weekly overview to the client, regarding safety performance, accidents incidents and near misses, learning opportunities
• Daily Site policing with weekly written report for each facet of work using our audit template
• Fortnightly look ahead at key activities involving the site operations team, liaison and email with Ops Director copied to denote arrangements safeguards and controls and actions for the relevant people - Failure to action any of these from those designated, escalation process to client nominated personnel
• Monthly review of Principal contractor with audit of conditions behaviours systems and processes and monthly dip test of all subcontractor RAMS is requested
• Cursory monthly update of PCI information to ensure client duties remain consistent and continue to be upheld
• Design Change updates to Viewpoint

Person Specification:

• Proven background in H&S & CDM risk assessments and method statements
• Principal designer - coordinating and identifying risks
• Industrial food factory experience would be highly beneficial
• Ability to lead people and manage multiple site activities safely and professionally.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• SMSTS and NEBOSH is essential, and Temporary Works coordinator qualifications would be highly advantageous.
• Ideally based South Yorkshire/Derbyshire
• Must have a UK driving licence and be flexible to travel
