Job description

As the post holder, you will be expected to have an extensive understanding of Building Services Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & associated assets). As the lead member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for effective inspection, operation, and maintenance of all associated assets within the critical facility, with a primary focus on enhancing the quality of service delivery through effective leadership and exceptional customer service.

You will ensure that the conduct of any personnel under your control is safe, professional, and conscientious. Attendance at site meetings with the client and on behalf of the client as requested is required. You will drive a Safety-First culture throughout the team, leading through your experience and knowledge of safe systems of work and compliance. You will be authorized to issue PTWs, ensuring compliance with method statements, risk assessments, and safety procedures.

Key Tasks - Duties to include:
  1. Supervision, coordination, and support of the engineering team.
  2. Operate all systems within the facility effectively, including LV Switching Operations.
  3. Make recommendations for improvements and provide technical reports.
  4. Manage all activities related to the operation of building systems and assets, ensuring statutory compliance.
  5. Plan and support specialist vendor works, ensuring change management approval for critical works.
  6. Ensure vendor worksheets are signed off and work quality inspected.
  7. Ensure compliance with SLAs and monitor work orders in the CMMS system.
  8. Complete work orders accurately, including time capture and work details.
  9. Report on system availability and risks daily.
  10. Attend team meetings and complete daily reports.
  11. Manage critical spares, stock registers, and procurement.
  12. Report incidents and participate in drills.
  13. Ensure maintenance complies with OEM/SFG20/NGM standards.
  14. Escalate equipment issues promptly.
  15. Review vendor reports and participate in emergency preparedness exercises.
  16. Contribute to continuous improvement and safety compliance.
  17. Support on-call operations and escalation procedures.
  18. Maintain areas under control to standards.
  19. Coordinate with supply chain for parts procurement.
  20. Participate in training and development activities.
  21. Conduct quality assurance and audits.
  22. Handle alarm responses and escalations.

Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in critical environments, LV authorized, and qualified in electrical or mechanical engineering with relevant certifications. Strong communication, leadership, and proactive approach are essential. Willingness to undertake further training and demonstrate commitment to safety and excellence is required.
