Job description

We're looking to add a Project Engineer to our team here at Vipond, for an onsite role, initially based in Glasgow and Warrington. This opportunity is suitable for someone looking to take the next step towards becoming a Project Manager. The role requires occasional travel and staying away from home.

Responsibilities:

  • Participating in project initiation and handover meetings with stakeholders including Sales, Design, and QS
  • Developing and maintaining project programmes
  • Communicating with clients throughout project duration
  • Maintaining central project records
  • Attending internal Cost To Complete (CVR) meetings
  • Completing and submitting end-of-project documentation such as O&M manuals, As-Fitted Drawings, and Certification

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Understanding of engineering drawings
  • Experience managing projects with budgets ranging from £5k to £2m in the construction industry
  • Supervisory experience with on-site labour and resources
  • Current SMSTS and CSCS cards
  • Knowledge of CDM management principles
  • Relevant qualifications such as NVQ, NHD, HNC, or City & Guilds in Building Services or Mechanical disciplines

This role involves supporting Project and Site Managers within the Main Contracts (Special Risk division) to deliver fire protection projects on time, within budget, and compliant with customer and regulatory standards.

You will gain experience working on diverse projects, including commercial buildings, energy from waste facilities, warehouses, and distribution centers.
