Job summary

Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd in Port Talbot seeks a Package Manager for a high-value, multi-disciplinary project exceeding £200m. You will oversee subcontractor coordination, interfaces with architects and engineers, and ensure delivery under NEC 4.

The role requires a site-based presence, strong planning ability, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will run weekly progress meetings, manage look-ahead programmes, and ensure compliance with contract

Qualifications

• Degree in civil/structural engineering or construction management.
• Team player with collaborative mindset.
• Hands-on approach and can-do attitude.
• Site-based role with strong interface skills.
• Proficient IT skills and planning software familiarity.
• Ability to prepare a 3-week lookahead programme.
• Proven experience in package management on large projects.
• Experience as Temporary Works Coordinator is advantageous.
• Knowledge of building products, construction details and standards.
• Professional membership in ICE, CIOB, RICS or similar preferred.
• Ideally located in South Wales within daily travelling distance of Port Talbot.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, coordination and management of subcontractors in multiple trades.
• Coordinate with Architects, Engineers, Clients and site staff to ensure smooth delivery under NEC 4.
• Organise and lead weekly site progress meetings and monitor interfaces, programme, quality and safety.
• Keep Chief Engineer and Project Manager/Director informed of issues and progress.
