Job summary

Sir Robert McAlpine in Port Talbot is seeking a Package Manager to lead design coordination and management of sub-contractors on a complex multi-disciplinary project valued at over £200m, delivered under NEC 4. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will drive programme, safety and quality across trades.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering or construction management degree, strong on-site experience, and proven ability to prepare 3-week look-ahead programmes with project planners.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering, heavy construction, construction management or related field.
• Strong on-site experience in construction projects.
• Proven ability to prepare a 3-week look-ahead programme with project planner.
• Experience in package management on large projects.
• Experience as Temporary Works Coordinator would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant regulations and quality standards.
• Willingness to be site-based as a key project team member.
• Ideally located in South Wales within daily travelling distance of Port Talbot.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, coordination and management of sub-contractors across trades.
• Organise and conduct weekly site progress meetings with works contractors.
• Monitor interfaces, programme, progress, quality and safety; keep Chief Engineer and Project Manager updated on issues.
