Site-Based M&E Quality Manager — Right-First-Time Delivery

Job summary

Designer Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Quality Manager (M&E) to strengthen quality across its UK operations. This hands-on, site-facing role focuses on right-first-time delivery from installation through commissioning and handover.

You will work across multiple projects, supporting on-site teams, driving standards, and resolving quality issues before impact to programme or client delivery. Prior M&E sector QA/QC experience and ISO 9001 knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in M&E construction, building services, data centres, energy or industrial sectors.
• Strong QA/QC processes and inspection systems knowledge.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and commissioning requirements.
• Experience managing defects, NCRs, corrective actions and root cause analysis.
• Comfortable working across multiple live project sites.
• Strong communication, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
• A background in mechanical, electrical or building services engineering is desirable; however, the ability to manage quality across both disciplines is essential.

Responsibilities

• Own quality across M&E works from installation to handover.
• Implement project quality plans, ITPs and inspection regimes.
• Lead audits, inspections and quality reviews across project sites.
• Manage NCRs, defects and corrective actions.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover readiness activities.
• Verify materials, plant and equipment prior to installation.
• Monitor subcontractor and supplier quality performance.
• Track quality KPIs and report to project and senior leadership teams.
• Drive continuous improvement and right-first-time delivery.
• Collaborate with Group Quality Management for consistency across the business.
