Job summary

Logical Personnel Solutions in Manchester is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead groundworks and civil engineering projects across the Northwest. This on-site, hands-on role focuses on delivery, programme control, and site performance.

You will coordinate site teams, manage Site Managers, and work with QSs on costs, variations and notices under NEC/JCT contracts. A strong operational background and a track record of multi-project delivery are essential.

Qualifications

10+ years' experience in groundworks and civil engineering.
Strong engineering/operational background.
Experience with contractor turnover £10m-£15m.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects end-to-end.
Excellent programme management and planning skills.
Experience supervising labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
Good commercial awareness and handling variations/contractual notices.
Stable employment history with proven on-site delivery.

Responsibilities

Take overall operational responsibility for live groundworks and civil works projects.
Ensure sites are properly resourced and maintain presence across sites.
Manage Site Managers and hold them to programme and performance.
Produce and manage rolling 6-week lookahead programmes.
Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
Identify delays and implement recovery measures.
Work with QSs to monitor costs, variations, dayworks and completed works.
Raise contractual notices promptly under NEC and JCT contracts.
