Job summary

Turner Lovell are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK energy infrastructure organisation delivering major electricity transmission projects as part of the UK's transition to a net-zero energy system.

An Assistant Project Manager is required to support the delivery of a major civil and building package on a large HVDC transmission project in Scotland, with hybrid pre-construction and predominantly site-based work during construction.

Qualifications

• Experience working site-based on civil engineering, construction or major infrastructure projects
• Understanding of construction Health & Safety requirements and CDM 2015
• Familiarity with NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts, ideally with practical experience
• Experience monitoring contractors and subcontractors against programme, quality and safety requirements
• Strong organisational and project coordination skills
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of a major civil and building work package from pre-construction through execution
• Work closely with the Project Manager, main contractor and wider project delivery team
• Monitor contractor performance against programme, quality, safety and project requirements
• Carry out regular site monitoring and provide updates on construction progress
• Support project controls, reporting, programme updates, risk registers and issue tracking
• Assist with NEC contract administration, including early warnings, compensation events and change management
• Coordinate interfaces between contractors, designers, consultants and key stakeholders
• Support the management of project risks, issues and opportunities
• Promote and maintain a strong Health, Safety and Environmental culture across project activities
• Assist with project meetings, reporting and stakeholder engagement
• Support effective project governance and ensure project documentation is maintained
