Job summary

Langdon Academy in East Ham is seeking a dedicated Site Assistant to help keep our busy school site well maintained, secure and clean for over 2,000 students and staff.

Under the Premises Manager, you will join a team to cover buildings, grounds and facilities, handle first aid when needed, and adapt to the daily rhythms of a dynamic school environment.

Qualifications

• Hard-working and reliable with a can-do attitude.
• Willingness to undertake first aid training and act as a first aider.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to the changing needs of a school day.

• Work under the Premises Manager/Deputy Premises Manager to ensure buildings, grounds, and facilities are secure, safe and clean.

Job description

Langdon Academy is a large and richly diverse school in East Ham with more than 2000 students in our primary and secondary phase.

We are seeking to appoint a Site Assistant who is hard-working, reliable and is able to demonstrate their initiative to ensure that the day-to-day upkeep and operations of the school are maintained.

Under the direction of the Premises Manager/Deputy Premises Manager, you will be working within a team to assist in ensuring the school site and facilities are maintained, secure, safe and clean (buildings, grounds, landscape and facilities) and meets the needs of our students, staff and visitors.

This role is not for the faint hearted; it is a rewarding, but challenging role. You will need to be resilient, patient and be prepared to be flexible and adapt to the changing needs of the school's working day. Working under pressure is vital for this role, along with a "can do" attitude.

You will be required to undertake first aid training and act as a school first aider, as and when needed.
