Job summary

Elstow School is seeking a proactive Site Assistant to join our Facilities Team. The role involves practical maintenance, repairs, and helping keep the school safe and well presented.

The successful candidate will have hands-on experience, good communication skills, and a willingness to undertake COSHH and safeguarding checks. 52 weeks a year, 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday 6:30am–10:30am.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance, caretaking or site work.
• Experience in basic repairs and maintenance.
• Experience opening, closing and securing buildings.
• Strong IT skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Substantial knowledge of Health and Safety (COSHH).
• Understanding safeguarding principles.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training.
• Current valid driving licence preferable (D1/D1 extension).

Responsibilities

• Ensure security of premises and porter tasks as needed.
• General repairs and maintenance across the site.
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers to coordinate works.
• Help keep the school safe, clean and well maintained.
• Assist with grounds maintenance and vehicle management.
• Support health and safety compliance across the site.
• Open/close buildings and manage access as required.
• Assist with driving duties when required.

Site Assistant

Elstow School are seeking a proactive and hands-on Site Assistant to join our dedicated Facilities Team. The ideal candidate for this physically demanding job will be an individual with good handy-person skills and eagerness to carry out the work in an efficient manner.

We are seeking a committed Site Assistant who will carry out general repairs and maintenance, liaise with contractors and suppliers and ensure our school maintains a high level of health and safety.

You will join our friendly and hardworking facilities department to help keep our school safe, clean and in a good state of repair.

The successful candidate will have

• Experience of building maintenance, caretaking, site or premise work
• Experience of carrying out basic repairs and maintenanceExperience of opening, closing and securing buildings

• Ability to problem solve and use own initiative
• Substantial knowledge of Health and Safety, including COSHH
• An understanding of safeguarding.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training.
• Current valid full driving licence is preferable with either D1/D1 extension.

Salary: AS 4 -12 FTE £25,495-£28,907 actual pro rata salary £13,781-£15,625

Job role: Permanent, Part-Time, 52 weeks per year, 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday 6:30am-10:30am
