Site Agent – Water Contract Role

Salary: c£380 Per day
Location: Watford

A Main civil engineering Water utilities contractor is looking for an experienced Agent / Site Manager to manage projects within its Thames Water Framework.

The purpose of this role is to manage and control construction activities, progress, and changes on site, reporting into a Contracts Manager.

Role Summary

  • Support the Contracts Manager in delivering projects for our Southern Water framework, ensuring successful, safely executed, high-quality projects in Sussex.
  • Ensure all CPP, RAMS, and Point of Work Risk Assessments (POWRAs) are fully understood and implemented.
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with applicable legislation and the contract.
  • Understand budget allowances and monitor and report on contract activities against agreed budgets and programme.
  • Identify, agree, and effectively manage changes.
  • Liaise with the project manager, site staff, and quantity surveyor to ensure contract objectives are met.
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers; requisition plant and materials; ensure safe practices are implemented at all stages.
  • Input to the project programme, in accordance with clients’ expectations and CDM requirements.
  • Share information with the wider team to support work planning and obtain and work in accordance with licenses and permits required to deliver the project.
  • Document and report progress on site and complete site records.
  • Review customer impacts on site and escalate any issues to the Project Manager or CBUL Customer Stakeholder Manager.
  • Engage effectively and positively with customers and stakeholders encountered in the course of works.
  • Carry out any other duties appropriate to this post.

Experience Required

  • Relevant experience in civil engineering or utility sector site management – at least 5 years’ proven experience in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of the NEC 3 Form of Contract.
  • Operational and commercial awareness within the civil infrastructure or utilities environment.
  • Water/utility network experience is desirable.

Essential Qualifications

  • Relevant industry qualification (HND/ HNC/ BEng) or equivalent.
  • Up-to-date SMSTS qualification.
  • Appropriate CSCS card.
  • Valid Driving Licence.
  • A First Aid at work qualification is desirable.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Health, Safety and Environmental Management (IOSH or Construction Managers Safety Certificate).
  • NEBOSH.
