Job description

Site Agent – Peckham, South East London – Network Rail Bridges x 4 – £45-£55k+pkg + lodge

Salary: £45-£55k+pkg + lodge
Location: Peckham, South East London
Region: London

A Main Contractor is seeking a Site Agent from an Engineer background to work on 4 Network Rail Bridges worth between £14m-£30m each based out of Peckham.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Promote the Be Safe culture, lead by example
  2. Ensure safe systems of work are implemented
  3. Understanding and promoting safe working practices on and around the operational railway
  4. Chair and deliver safety readiness review / risk assessment workshops
  5. Manage the production / review and approval of work package plans
  6. Ensure task briefings are produced and delivered
  7. Competent in the delivery of large cladding, flooring and glazing subcontract packages
  8. Delivering packages of work safely, on time and to budget
  9. Complying with IBP subcontract management processes
  10. Coordinate trades both within the section and interfacing to ensuring programme delivery
  11. Implementing an inspection and test regime that ensures ‘right first time’ delivery
  12. Managing the collation of quality/handover documentation
  13. Working with the design team to ensure client and subcontract designs are buildable, coordinated and to specification
  14. Manage a team of direct reports to deliver packages within the section
  15. Promote personal / professional development within the team
  16. Manage good and poor performance
  17. Continually challenging self and others to deliver excellence

Required Experience

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Ideally member of a relevant Professional Institution (CEng MICE or MCIOB)
  • Proven and successful experience delivering large-scale, high quality building/fit out sub-contract packages (within Rail, Aviation, Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Residential sectors)
  • Strong management and communication skills
  • Strong contractual understanding (NEC contracts)
