Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd is seeking a Site Agent/Manager to drive civil engineering projects in Cumbria. You will oversee day-to-day site operations, coordinate resources, and lead safety and reporting processes to ensure on-time delivery.

You will manage RAMS, WPPs and ITPs, support framework/project managers, and foster strong client and stakeholder relationships across national and local works. This permanent on-site role offers a competitive salary and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Site Agent, Site Manager or similar in civil engineering.
• Strong knowledge of construction and maintenance projects.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Valid CSCS Card.

Responsibilities

• Support Framework Managers and Project Managers across infrastructure projects.
• Manage day-to-day site operations and night shifts when required.
• Promote health and safety culture and ensure CDM compliance.
• Produce RAMS, WPPs and Task Briefings.
• Plan short-term lookahead programmes and allocate resources.
• Monitor project costs and support commercial performance.
• Assist with NEC contract administration.
• Produce and manage ITPs.
• Maintain site records, diaries and progress reports.
• Lead daily/weekly site briefings and night shift handovers.
• Build relationships with clients, authorities and stakeholders.

Site Agent / Manager – Cumbria | Salary £60,000 - £70,000 per annum | Full-time | On-Site

Our client is looking to add a Site Agent / Manager to support the delivery of works across national and local civil engineering projects. This opportunity offers the chance to progress your career with a well-established civil engineering contractor.

Responsibilities

• Support Framework Managers and Project Managers across a range of infrastructure projects.
• Manage day-to-day site operations, including coordinating and overseeing night shifts where required.
• Lead by example in promoting a strong health and safety culture, ensuring full compliance with CDM regulations.
• Produce and deliver Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Work Package Plans (WPPs) and Task Briefings.
• Plan and manage short-term lookahead programmes, allocating labour, plant and resources effectively.
• Monitor project costs, forecast expenditure and support commercial performance across projects.
• Assist with the administration of NEC contracts.
• Produce, implement and manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Maintain accurate site records, including site diaries and progress reports.
• Lead daily and weekly site briefings and coordinate effective night shift handovers.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, local authorities and other key stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and handover.

About You

• Previous experience as a Site Agent, Site Manager or similar role within the civil engineering sector.
• Strong knowledge of construction and maintenance projects.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Valid CSCS Card
