Job Summary:**
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Site Agent to oversee and manage civil engineering projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while adhering to all safety regulations.
Job Responsibilities:**
- Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Lead and motivate site teams, including direct labour and sub-contractors, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Develop and implement project schedules, ensuring critical milestones are met and potential delays are proactively addressed.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement effective solutions to maintain project timelines and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies, conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments.
- Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, local authorities, and other stakeholders, maintaining strong communication channels.
- Manage project budgets, control costs, and prepare regular financial reports for senior management.
- Procure materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress reports, and incident reports.
- Conduct quality control checks and inspections to ensure all work meets the required standards.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in site operations and project delivery.
Job Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Site Agent or in a similar supervisory role within the civil engineering sector.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering a variety of civil infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, bridges, drainage, utilities).
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, processes, and relevant industry standards.
- Excellent knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations (e.g., CDM regulations).
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage budgets, schedules, and resources.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS) are highly desirable.
