Job summary

Farrans Construction seeks a Site Agent to lead on the Living Water Enterprise project, overseeing on-site construction, coordinating teams and supply chain partners to deliver safely, on time and to budget.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage setting out, coordinate works and liaise with Senior Management to meet client requirements. Strong leadership and civil engineering knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supervising engineering teams and subcontractors.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Solid knowledge of construction standards and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site construction activities and ensure time, quality and budget targets are met.
• Provide technical support to resolve challenges and queries on site.
• Manage setting out and dimensional control for accurate construction.
• Drive proactive health and safety on-site and ensure safe operations.
• Coordinate temporary works, inspections and testing regimes.
• Engage with stakeholders and attend key meetings to represent Farrans.

This isn't just about moving muck and laying pipes. We are completely overhauling critical infrastructure, protecting local rivers, and pioneering low‑carbon, nature‑based engineering solutions.

The opportunity

We're seeking a Site Agent to play a key role in the successful delivery of this major civil engineering project. Working closely with the Senior Management team, you'll lead site operations and help drive safe, efficient, and high‑quality project delivery, ensuring programme, budget, and client requirements are achieved.

You’ll take ownership of construction activities on site, coordinate teams and supply chain partners, and identify opportunities to improve performance, productivity, and innovation throughout the project lifecycle.

• Oversee direct labour and subcontractors, ensuring all work meets time, quality, and budget targets.
• Provide technical support to overcome challenges and resolve queries.
• Manage setting out and dimensional control to ensure accurate construction.
• Drive a proactive approach to health and safety on‑site.
• Coordinate temporary works, inspections, and testing regimes.
• Engage with stakeholders and attend key meetings to represent Farrans.
• Monitor commercial performance and ensure accurate submission of records for payments.

• Proven experience supervising engineering teams and subcontractors.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Solid knowledge of construction standards and specifications.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications (CSCS/CSR card, First Aid at Work).
• Full driving license and willingness to travel.
