Job summary

John Sisk & Son, a leading international construction company, seeks a Site Agent to lead on-site supervision within the Infrastructure Business Unit in the UK. You will monitor site readiness, oversee safe and efficient operations, and drive day-to-day construction activities through a team of foremen and site staff.

You will manage subcontractor relations, ensure adherence to HSEQS and quality controls, and coordinate with project management to meet targets and schedules.

Qualifications

  • Trade or technical background required.
  • IOSH or equivalent health and safety management training essential.
  • Temporary Works & Excavation Safety knowledge required.
  • Permitting for live energy works experience preferred.
  • Working at Heights & Scaffolding training required.
  • Lifting & Cranage operations experience.
  • Other HSEQS training per site HSE plan.
  • Understanding of BIM strategy is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in compiling the initial programme and monitor weekly targets.
  • Plan and oversee site setup and facilities before project launch.
  • Manage relationships with subcontractors on site.
  • Enforce HSEQS protocols at all times on site.
  • Maintain quality control procedures.
  • Ensure Temporary Works & RISK registers are up to date.
  • Monitor energy use and waste data on site.
  • Maintain registration system for people entering/leaving site.
  • Flag issues to Contract Management/ Commercial teams.
  • Drive project pace and plan field work.
  • Coordinate and prioritise site activities.
  • Manage foremen and site staff.

Job description

Overview

The Site Agent will be based in our Infrastructure Business Unitand will be theconstruction leader on the ground. Manages the overall day to day supervision of the construction site. He/she will monitor the preparation of the site prior to project launch and oversee the safe and efficient operation of the site throughout the construction phase.

Responsibilities
  • Participates in compiling the initial programme and have a full awareness of weekly targets
  • Plans and oversees the site setup, ensuring that the appropriate facilities are in place prior to the project launch
  • Manages the relationship with the sub-contractors while working onsite
  • Takes ownership for ensuring that HSEQS protocols are always adhered to on sites
  • Always maintains quality control procedures
  • Ensures that the TWR is in place and is up to date
  • Monitors onsite energy and waste data
  • Is responsible for ensuring an efficient registration system is in place to monitor allindividuals entering and leaving the site
  • Flags any issues with the Contract Management/Commercial Teams, which have thepotential to have an impact on the effective delivery of the project – I.e. materials,works schedules, resources, H&S matters or issues relating to cost or delivery schedule
  • Drives the pace of the project and plans the work in the field
  • Coordinates and priorities the sequence of activities on site
  • Manages a team of foremen and other site staff
Experience
  • Strong People Management experience
  • Knowledge of good industrial relations practices
  • Ability to deal with conflicting priorities and difficult stakeholders, particularly subcontractors
  • Ability to communicates with colleagues and clients in a warm and persuasive wayboth formally and informally and able to alter style and method to suit audience
  • Can build consensus
  • Strong people skills and able to manage a variety of subcontractor supervision
  • More than ten years’ experience working across a range of sectoral projects
  • Experience of leading others and track record of delivering medium to large scale projects.
