We have an excellent and exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and suitably experienced Senior Practitioner/Sister/Charge nurse to Operating Services at Royal Hallamshire Hospital & Northern General Hospitals.

Main duties of the job

Applications are invited from Operating Department Practitioners and Registered Nurses who have extensive experience in Theatres.

Possession of a Post Basic Qualification or equivalent and specialist competencies is essential. Completion of management/leadership development would be desirable.

Applicants should hold a relevant teaching/mentoring qualification.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate clinical expertise and management and leadership skills. It would be expected that applicants would be able to demonstrate excellent skills in clinical practice and organisational ability, together with superb communication and interpersonal skill.

  • Registered Nurse (General Level 1) with valid NMC Registration.
  • Operating department practitioner (City&Guilds 752/ODP level 3 or Diploma/BSC Operating department practice) with valid HCPC registration
  • To have completed the national PEAP programme for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998.
  • Completion of Mentor Preparation.
  • Working towards degree level credits in associated pathway
