Sister - Charge Nurse - Outpatients - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Location: Beaumont Hospital, Bolton

Details: 37.5 Hours & Fixed Term

Salary: Up to £40,000.00 per year (depending on experience, training, and qualifications)

Position Summary

We have an opportunity for a Sister - Charge Nurse to join our Outpatients department. This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week, requiring flexibility in shift patterns.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide hands-on clinical care and act as a senior point of support for complex or deteriorating patients.
  2. Coordinate daily clinical activities, ensuring safe staffing levels, appropriate skill mix, and continuity of care.
  3. Allocate and supervise staff during shifts, ensuring responsibilities are clearly defined and patient needs are met.
  4. Support the development, appraisal, and competency assessment of junior nurses, HCAs, and students.
  5. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NMC and organizational standards.
  6. Promote compliance with infection prevention, medication safety, safeguarding, and other clinical governance priorities.
Candidate Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration.
  • Significant post-registration experience in an acute or relevant specialty.
  • Experience in leading and supervising a team within a clinical environment.
  • Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Commitment to high standards of patient care and professional development.
