Sister / Charge Nurse (Neonatal)

An excellent opportunity for a Sister / Charge Nurse who is committed to high quality care for babies and their families to join our Neonatal team based at Doncaster and Bassetlaw.

To provide the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised holistic care in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.

As a Band 6 Sister / Charge Nurse you will require RN Adult/RN Child with evidence of professional development. Completion of the Neonatal Intensive Care Course is essential.

There are opportunities to undertake a range of professional and personal development activities.

Main duties of the job
  • To provide the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised neonatal care in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • To develop your expertise, leadership, and managerial skills within the neonatal unit.
  • Providing and supporting family integrated care with the babies and their families.
  • Working alongside the multi disciplinary team to provide excellent evidence based care.
  • Opportunity to develop specialist interests within the scope of neonatal care.

Personal Attributes & Skills
  • Able to accommodate the demands of the post with excellent attendance and flexible working considered.
  • Precise and methodical in working practice and able to work under own initiative meeting necessary time constraints.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills with multi-disciplinary team/service users/relatives.
  • Demonstrates a caring manner with an understanding disposition.
Qualifications & Training
  • RN adult/RN Child with NMC pin
  • Qualified in Speciality ( QIS ) with 6 months post QIS completion
  • Completion of mentor/assessor qualification
Knowledge & Experience
  • Ability to demonstrate up to date knowledge of neonatal policies, procedures and working practices.
  • Demonstrate professional post-registration development in order to effectively manage a ward team.
  • Sound knowledge of the UNICEF neonatal standards and their implementation within the neonatal unit.
  • Evidence of experience working within the neonatal setting.
  • Awareness of audit and research
