The department has recently undergone refurbishment, including an extension to our majors area, ARA (ambulance arrivals), a dedicated paediatric area, and a Urgent Treatment Centre for minors and GP stream. Our workforce is growing, and recruitment is successful. This is a very exciting time to join our ED, with opportunities for development through formal Royal College Nursing - Emergency Nurse Competency-based assessments with accreditation supporting nurses to work in majors, minors, resus, paediatrics, and mental health. Our Professional Education Facilitators will guide you through robust training programs, linked with your Band 7 clinical team leader. We also hold ED study days led by the ED team, focusing on skills and knowledge aligned with the Royal College of Nursing competency framework.
