Overview

The Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC) at Whipps Cross Hospital is a fast pace emergency service for patients on the ambulatory care pathway directly from the Emergency Department as well as GP referrals. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and hardworking individual who has the experience and knowledge to complement the Senior nursing team in the Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit. We welcome applications from staff nurses who wish to challenge themselves further in their career. This is an excellent opportunity to undertake a key role to make a difference to the quality of care, patient safety and experience in a busy and friendly environment.

Responsibilities
  • Junior Sister/Charge Nurse has delegated responsibility for the management of clinical areas including assessment of care needs, development, implementation and evaluation of care and the setting of standards on a shift. Deputise for the senior charge nurse/senior sister in their absence when necessary.
  • Ensure continuity and high standards of care, including sharing ideas, information and feedback to empower patients and members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Take proactive role in producing accurate and complete records of activities and communications consistent with legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Perform assessment of care needs, development, implementation and evaluation of care and the setting of standards on a shift; deputise for the senior charge nurse/senior sister in their absence when necessary.
