Sister/ Charge Nurse

Pearce Ward is a 20 bedded unit that cares for patients with Cystic Fibrosis, Bronchiectasis, Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia, COPD and Asthma

We are a 20 bedded unit with an amazing MDT within the unit and thus offer bespoke, high quality, specialist care to our patients.

Main duties of the job

The service is staffed with a full MDT including medical and nursing teams, specialist AHPs, respiratory physiotherapists, administrative and support teams.

In addition we have 2 day case beds that run alongside Cystic Fibrosis outpatient department

Suitable candidates will have ambitions to develop their clinical skills and management for patients with a chronic respiratory condition. We are seeking to appoint motivated, dynamic staff with an interest or background in respiratory/intensive care and/or general medicine. You must be able to demonstrate high quality compassionate care and be keen to develop professional skills such as taking blood gases, venepuncture and cannulation, Non Invasive Ventilation and be able to care for patient's requiring ward based Level 2 care if required

An informal visit is highly recommended.

You will also:

Be dedicated and motivated in providing exceptional patient care

Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills

Work well within a multi-disciplinary team and individually

Have interest/ experience in Respiratory Medicine and/or Cystic Fibrosis
