Job overview

The post holder will be responsible for providing a single point of access for all referrals into Adult Mental Health services.

They will review all referrals to identify gaps in the referral process, aiming to strengthen joint partnership systems to improve early and appropriate referrals.

The role involves collating and analyzing statistical data from the current database to facilitate the process.

The post includes triaging all referral information, making autonomous clinical judgments to prioritize and allocate referrals to the appropriate professionals or suggest alternatives to referrers, in line with the Mental Health Triage Scale, risk management processes, the Mental Health Measure (Wales) 2010, and UK guidelines.

Additional responsibilities include triaging phone calls from external agencies and the public, providing brief interventions during calls, conducting holistic assessments, and formulating risk assessments.

Qualifications
  • RMN registration, occupational therapy, or social work
  • Possession of a postgraduate qualification (diploma, degree, or higher) or working towards one
Experience
  • Substantial post-qualification experience as Band 5/6 or equivalent in acute adult or community mental health
  • Experience in teaching, training, and designing educational programs for health and social care professionals, including conference presentations or publications
