Job summary

Awerian is seeking a Simulation and Modelling Engineer to model and analyse complex systems using MATLAB/Simulink. You will build mathematical models, tackle challenging engineering problems and collaborate with elite teams in a defence and security tech environment.

The role is based near Cambridge in the UK and involves working with multi-disciplinary teams, with opportunities to extend skills into different technical areas and contribute to fast-paced project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Must have strong problem-solving skills and ability to model complex systems.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink based tools for modelling.
  • Background in electronics/physics/mathematics and industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Model and analyse complex systems and their interactions.
  • Develop mathematical models of complex systems.
  • Apply object-oriented modelling and system architecture principles.
  • Review code and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.

Job description

Your work will have a real-world impact. As a Simulation and Modelling Engineer, you will be modelling and analysing complex systems and the interaction between them using MATLAB / Simulink based tools. You will draw on your problem solving and engineering skills to build and develop mathematical models of complex systems.

You may have an academic background in Electronics, Physics or Mathematics and will have industry experience. Defence experience is an advantage, but we will consider candidates from all sectors.

Your problem-solving skills will be enhanced as you tackle complex engineering challenges that test your deep understanding of engineering fundamentals and physical principles. You will also have many opportunities to expand your skillset into different areas, based on what interests you.

You will have experience in:

  • Model-based systems engineering
  • Developing Physics based models of systems and the interactions between them
  • System architecture, engineering principles and processes
  • Code revision and review
Desirable
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop
Skills
  • Simulink HDL coder / Embedded coder (desirable)
  • Radar signal processing (desirable)
