Job summary

Network Rail is seeking a dedicated operative to perform daily maintenance and safety-focused tasks on the nation’s rail network. You will work in a small outdoor team, ensuring safe and efficient operation for passengers and freight users.

We value safety, diversity, and a healthy work-life balance, and offer a generous benefits package. This role is full-time with a salary of £38,482 and a Maintenance grade. Training will be provided to develop your transferable skills on the network.

Qualifications

• Ideally hold (or be working towards) an NVQ 1 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
• Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work safely and in accordance with the safe systems of work procedures, method statements or other instructions.
• Undertake work and associated duties for which you are trained and competent.
• Undertake work activities as directed, in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with all relevant standards.
• Check that vehicles, plant, tools, equipment and materials under your control are fit for use and are used/stored and disposed of correctly.
