We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and conscientious Signalling Design Verifiers and Senior Verifiers to join our rail Signalling Business at various UK locations including Glasgow, York, Birmingham, and Swindon. We offer flexible location options and hybrid working arrangements to suit individual circumstances, with modern offices in Glasgow, York, Birmingham, and planned facilities in Swindon.

As part of our Signalling team, you'll develop your design skills across all project phases, including feasibility, option selection, detailed design, installation, testing, and project closeout. Our projects include major resignalling schemes like the Feltham re-signalling program, utilizing the latest interlocking and control systems technologies, as well as supporting station enhancements, track renewals, and level crossing upgrades. Your experience will be valued, and you'll have the opportunity to maximize your potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide design delivery support throughout the project lifecycle, from inception to completion.
  • Verify railway signalling designs, specifications, and reports; may include production duties, applying first principles as required.
  • Ensure all deliverables comply with company procedures, contractual, and statutory requirements, within agreed timescales.
  • Engage with clients, stakeholders, and external railway contractors.
  • Mentor and support junior staff development.
  • Coordinate technically with other disciplines, departments, and external organizations.

Requirements

  • Hold a current IRSE Signalling Principles Designer Licence (1.1.550) and Signalling Design Verifier Licence (1.1.160).
  • Substantial mainline signalling design experience, with knowledge of UK railway standards and processes at various project stages.
  • Experience in design verification across different project phases and systems.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality standards, with understanding of risk assessment and hazard management.
  • Preferred: PTS (Personal Track Safety) certificate.

Additional Information

This role may require security clearance, contingent upon obtaining the necessary level. The vetting process is managed by UKSV and may require proof of UK residency for 5 years or more. Please do not mention or include current or past security clearances in your application.
