We are recruiting enthusiastic Signalling Design Managers / Design CREs to join our rail Signalling Business across various UK locations including Belfast, Glasgow, York, Birmingham, and Swindon. We offer flexible location options and hybrid working arrangements. Our modern offices in Belfast, Glasgow, York, and Birmingham, plus new facilities in Swindon, provide excellent working environments.

Within AtkinsRéalis Signalling, you'll develop your design delivery skills across all project phases, including feasibility, option selection, detailed design, and support for installation, testing, and project closeout. Our projects include major resignalling schemes like the Feltham re-signalling programme, utilizing the latest interlocking and control system technologies, as well as station enhancements, track renewals, level crossing upgrades, and small-scale consultancy work. Your experience and strengths will be valued, and you'll have opportunities to maximize your potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage project delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle, from inception to completion.
• Ensure signalling design projects meet client requirements, company procedures, and safety standards, fulfilling Signalling Design CRE role when appointed.
• Deliver projects/packages on time and within budget.
• Participate in meetings and liaise with project teams, clients, and contractors.
• Contribute to estimates and tenders as needed.
• Manage and mentor design staff, supporting junior team members.

Requirements:

• Current IRSE 7.8.110E Engineering Manager (Design) Licence or working towards CRE competency as per NR/L2/RSE/02009/01.
• Leadership experience in signalling design projects, including roles as Design Manager or CRE.
• Extensive mainline signalling design experience, familiar with UK railway standards, processes, and procedures.
• Proven experience in Signalling Design CRE duties across various project environments with UK technologies.
• Experience in early development and detailed design stages, including S&C track renewals and Stageworks.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
• Preferred: PTS certification and IRSE workplace assessor qualification.
