Job summary

Vigilant Security in Edinburgh is seeking a Security Officer for Wester Hailes Neighbourhood Office. This full-time, on-site role runs Monday–Friday, with a shift from 08:30 to 07:30. You will maintain security standards, greet visitors, and uphold a professional corporate image.

A valid SIA license is required, and you must be able to obtain clearance back five years. Strong communication, confidentiality, and computer literacy are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• SIA license required for the post.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to be vetted back 5 years or since leaving compulsory education.
• Computer literate with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide a prompt, polite and warm welcome to all visitors.
• Anticipate clients’ needs and ensure expectations are met daily.
• Be a visible, customer-focused professional greeting and engaging with visitors.
• Provide a consistent, professional service at all times.
• Communicate visitor arrivals to the relevant person promptly.
• Maintain a high security awareness at all times.
• Undertake patrols and inspections per management instructions.
• Proficient use of communications equipment and good communication skills.
• Ensure all H&S policies are adhered to.
• Ensure no unauthorised persons in prohibited areas.
• Issue visitor passes using agreed processes and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents.
