Role Description

The SIA Door Supervisor role at VELA Security is an on-site position based in the Manchester Area, United Kingdom. You will monitor crowd behavior, de-escalate conflict, and respond to incidents in line with legal and company procedures, including completing accurate incident reports. Shifts may include evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays, requiring a professional presence, strong communication skills, and a consistent focus on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Door Supervisor license and a strong understanding of relevant UK laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Experience in front-line security, crowd management, or customer-facing roles in venues such as bars, clubs, events, or hospitality settings.
• Ability to assess risks, remain calm under pressure, and apply effective conflict management and de-escalation techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact respectfully and clearly with diverse guests, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Good physical fitness, alertness, and the ability to stand for extended periods and work variable shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Reliable, punctual, and capable of following procedures, maintaining accurate records, and handling sensitive information confidentially.
• Basic first aid training (or willingness to obtain) and familiarity with emergency procedures is highly beneficial.
• Previous experience in the Manchester area or local knowledge of common venue environments is an advantage but not essential.
