Job description

What You'll Be Doing

Working within a defined portfolio of Sainsbury's and other retail outlets, you'll be the first point of contact for all planned and reactive shutters and automatic gate maintenance tasks. You'll carry out servicing and repairs safely and to an agreed standard, aiming for first-time fix to meet the required Service Level.

You should be able to diagnose and identify faults with equipment and systems effectively and provide solutions, escalating issues when necessary. If technical or specialist help is needed, we'll call them in — you're not expected to be an expert but to inform us when assistance is required. You will also sponsor and complete S&G surveys and technical reports, ensuring audits and checks are performed in line with standards.

What We're Looking For

You'll enjoy working autonomously in a pressurised environment and be able to prioritise a complex workload. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to relay operational issues and service updates effectively. Customer service orientation and a people-focused attitude are also important.

Experience should include retail environment skills such as:

• Roller shutters, Roller grilles, Fire shutters
• Sectional doors, Fire curtains, Hi-Speed doors
• Folding doors, Manual gates, Automatic gates
• Dock Levellers, Dock Shelters

Essential qualifications include:

• Full UK driving licence
• 17th or 18th Edition AMD3
• CSCS Cards
• IPAF & PASMA

Additional Information

Provided with a company van and all necessary equipment. The role involves being on call for emergencies and critical works, with call-out premiums included in the salary. Typically on call 1 week in 4 from 17:00 on Friday.
