Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking a skilled Shuttering Carpenter for a 2-week contract in Pontycymer, Wales. You will construct form work for two retaining walls, reading drawings, and ensuring components are level, plumb, and securely fixed.

The ideal candidate has shuttering carpentry experience, can work safely on site, and is comfortable using hand and power tools. There is potential for additional work the following week depending on progress.

Qualifications

• Shuttering and form-work experience.
• 2 years shuttering carpentry experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Strong understanding of construction-site health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Construct, assemble, and install shuttering/form work for two retaining walls.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Ensure all form work is level, plumb, aligned, and securely fixed.
• Use hand tools and power tools required for form work construction.
• Carry out adjustments and modifications to ensure form work is ready for concrete pour.
• Safely handle and move timber, panels, steel supports, and other form work materials.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area.
• Follow all site health and safety requirements.
• Assist with stripping/removal of form-work after the concrete has sufficiently set.
• Work efficiently as part of the site team to complete the works within the 1-week programme.

Shuttering Carpenter - 2 Week Contract

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Shuttering Carpenter for a 2-week job constructing form work for two retaining walls. There is also scope for the successful carpenter/team to return for additional work the following week, subject to project requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience in shuttering and form work, be able to work efficiently and safely on site, and have the technical skills required to construct quality form work for concrete retaining walls.

Duties

• Construct, assemble, and install shuttering/form work for two retaining walls.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Ensure all form work is level, plumb, aligned, and securely fixed.
• Use hand tools and power tools required for form work construction.
• Carry out adjustments and modifications to ensure form work is ready for concrete pour.
• Safely handle and move timber, panels, steel supports, and other form work materials.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in shuttering carpentry/form work.
• 2 year's shuttering carpentry experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.
• Competent with hand and power tools.
• Good understanding of construction-site health and safety.
• Ability to carry out physically demanding work and heavy lifting safely.
• Welding or steel work experience is advantageous.
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work to programme.

Duration

Initial contract: 2 week - construction of form work for two retaining walls.

Potential for additional work the following week, depending on project requirements and progress.
