Job summary

Blu Tech consulting is seeking three experienced Shuttering Carpenters for an immediate start on a new build apartments project in Thornton Heath near Croydon, West London.

You must hold a CSCS card and provide references for similar work. The role involves forming shutters for concrete structures and现场 safety is paramount. Immediate start and circa 8 months of work expected.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as shuttering carpenter or similar role on commercial/industrial sites.
• CSCS card is essential for site access and safety compliance.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specs.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specs to determine formwork requirements.
• Construct and assemble shutters for formwork, lift shafts, walls and staircases.
• Use hand/power tools to create molds for concrete pouring.
• Ensure formwork is properly aligned, supported and secure against concrete pressure.
• Perform heavy lifting and maintain safety standards on-site.
• Collaborate with team to troubleshoot issues and maintain quality.
• Remove formwork after concrete sets without damaging finished structure.
• Maintain a clean work area and inspect tools regularly.

Job description

Our client a West London based Groundwork and Civil Engineering contractor currently seek x3 experienced Shuttering Carpenters for one of their projects in Thornton Heath near Croydon.

It is essential that you hold a CSCS card and can provide recent work references for similar work undertook

The work itself is new build apartments

Duties

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to determine formwork requirements.
• Construct, assemble, and build shutters for formwork, lift shafts, Walls , and Stair cases
• Using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to create molds for concrete pouring.
• Ensure formwork is properly aligned, supported, and secured to withstand the pressure of wet concrete during curing.
• Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks safely while maintaining high standards of quality and precision.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues
• Remove formwork/or shutters carefully after concrete has set, ensuring no damage occurs to the finished structure.
• Maintain a clean work environment, inspect tools and equipment regularly, and adhere strictly to safety protocols on-site.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Shuttering Carpenter or in a similar carpentry role within commercial or industrial construction environments.
• Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in construction sites is essential for success in this role.

This is an immediate start for the right candidates and will be circa 8 months work
