Fawkes & Reece Group in Hythe is recruiting for a Shuttering Carpenter to join a reputable civil engineering team. You will form and assemble concrete structures on site, working with wood forms or metal frames and ensuring accurate dimensions for pours.

With at least 2 years in shuttering carpentry, you will be mindful of safety, able to work in a team or alone, and hold a CSCS card or provide references. A temporary full-time position with an ASAP start awaits the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Shuttering Carpenter.
• CSCS card is preferred; if not available, provide relevant references.
• Ability to work in a team or independently.
• Demonstrates health & safety awareness and practices.

Responsabilités

• Create forms for bridges, foundations, beams and staircases.
• Assemble structures on site using wood or assembled metal frames.
• Dismantle casts without damage for reuse.
• Measure, cut and shape wood or metal elements.
• Collaborate with the team to pour concrete into moulds.
• Check work for accuracy and quality of finish.
• Produce concrete blocks with correct dimensions for construction needs.

Do currently work in Construction? Are you a Shuttering Carpenter or a Gang of Shuttering Carpenters within the civil engineering space and looking for a new opportunity? If the answers are yes, we have roles opening with a reputable civil engineering company in the Hythe area.

• Location: Hythe
• Contract type: Temporary (Full time)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Pay rate: £24-27 per hour

The company:

A well-established national civil engineering company that focuses on the highways, bridges, airports, sewage systems, pipelines, new build residential estates, commercial new builds and railways.

The role:

As the Shuttering Carpenter, you will be responsible for:

• Creating forms for bridges, foundations, beams and staircases
• Building structures on site using wood or putting together metal frames that have been made elsewhere
• Dismantling casts without damaging them, so that they can be used again
• Measuring, cutting, and shaping wood or metal
• Working closely with your team to pour concrete into moulds
• Checking work for accuracy
• Producing concrete blocks of exactly the right shape and size for whatever needs building.

About you:

• A minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Shuttering Carpenter
• Ideally hold a CSCS skill card. If not, you must provide relevant references.
• Be able to work in a team or alone.
• Conscious of health & safety

• You will need a current and valid CSCS card
• Any of the following qualifications would be an additional benefit; abrasive wheels, manual handling, street works, first aid etc….
