Job summary

Stagecoach Group in Saint Helens is seeking a hands-on Shunter Fueller to keep our buses clean, safe and ready. You’ll fuel and oil our fleet, drive vehicles around the depot, clean interiors, and support daily depot operations.

The role is full-time, 37.5 hours, 5 days over 7, 6pm–2am, with a pay rate of £13.95 per hour. Full training provided, pension, holiday allowance, and staff travel perks.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Fuel and oil the fleet of buses and coaches.
• Drive (shunt) vehicles safely around the depot and park them correctly.
• Clean interior and exterior of vehicles, including deep cleans and under-chassis washes.
• Keep premises tidy and hygienic, including washrooms.
• Carry out vehicle changeovers, breakdown support, and collect/deliver vehicles or parts as needed.
• Log fuel and oil usage and complete daily checks on equipment.

At Stagecoach, our Shunter Fuellers play a vital behind‑the‑scenes role in keeping our buses clean, safe, and ready to hit the road. You’ll be an essential part of a supportive team helping to maintain a modern fleet as our depots continue to evolve, with low‑emission and electric vehicles.

What you’ll be doing:

• Fuelling and oiling our fleet of buses and coaches
• Driving (shunting) vehicles safely around the depot and parking them correctly
• Cleaning the interior and exterior of our vehicles, including deep cleans and under‑chassis washes using approved equipment
• Keeping our premises tidy and hygienic, including washrooms
• Carrying out vehicle changeovers, breakdown support, and collecting/delivering vehicles or parts when needed
• Logging fuel and oil usage and completing daily checks on equipment
• Supporting your team and contributing to a safe, efficient depot operation
