Stobart, part of the Culina Group, is seeking a Shunter in Northampton (Swan Valley) on a full-time permanent basis. Shift: 4 on 4 off, 06:00-18:00. Salary £33,509 per annum, paid bi-weekly. The role involves timely trailer movements, inter-depot shunting and safety compliance.

Key duties include positioning trailers, radio communication with the operation, and reporting defects or incidents. Applicants should hold a full C+E entitlement and have shunting experience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inter-depot movements.

• Ensure fridge temperatures and fuel levels are correct.
• Maintain professionalism in communication.
• Monitor and report speeding breaches by drivers.

We are now recruiting for a Shunter to join our Northampton, Swan Valleyon a full-time and permanent basis.

Shift Pattern: Working4 on 4 off - 06:00-18:00

Salary:£33,509 per annum. Paid Bi-Weekly

Job DescriptionTo ensure the timely trailer movements, on and off loading bays and where applicable to deliver a shunt load from one location to another, as instructed, in line with Company standards and operational requirements.

Key Duties of a Shunter:

• This role will include inter-depot movements.
• To place trailers to the required areas as per instructions
• To use two way radios to keep in contact with areas of the operation as necessary
• To ensure you carry out all safety checks, as designated by the company.
• To ensure that you report defects, accident damage and any incidents as soon as they are found.
• To ensure fridges are set at the correct temperature, in line with loaded product temperature requirements.
• To ensure fridge diesel tanks have adequate fuel at all times.
• To always be professional and courteous when communicating with your colleagues.
• Reporting any breaches in speed limits by drivers and sub contractors to the transport department.
• Keeping vehicle parking area layouts as they should be and reporting any issues of debris to the site services team
• Ensure that company standards of hygiene and housekeeping, in your areas of work, are maintained at all times
• To ensure you are working in line with Health & Safety legislation

Qualifications-

• A Full C+E entitlement is needed for this position.
• Previous shunting experience
• Experience of working in a very fast paced environment
• Written and verbal communication
• Ability to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised environment
• Self disciplined and motivated
