Job summary

DX Network Services is seeking a dedicated shunter driver to support warehousing and distribution operations across the premises. The role involves safely moving vehicles and ensuring daily checks are completed, with attention to safety and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will uphold company procedures, report defects, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement while supporting on-site health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

HGV/C+E Licence required.
DCPC card holder desirable.
Knowledge of drivers hours and WTD regulations is essential.

Responsibilities

Drive vehicles in a safe and legal manner, complying with site requirements.
Be mindful of other drivers, colleagues and pedestrians in the work area.
Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.

Job description

Key responsibilities

Drive vehicles in a safe and legal manner ensuring compliance with all legal and site requirements.
Ensure that consideration is given to other drivers, colleagues and pedestrians in the work area.
Ensure all daily checks are undertaken ensuring defects are immediately reported and associated paperwork completed
Complete all necessary paperwork, such as movement sheets, on time and in full
To be respectful to other road users and members of the public ensuring the reputation of the business is protected at all times.
Observe Company rules and procedures as defined in the shunter pack and other Company Policies and Procedures, such as site rules.
Ensure that all personal protective equipment (PPE) used is in good order and is utilised as instructed
Ensure all operations are undertaken in line with the relevant SSOW.
Continually seek to improve our processes and services.
Ensure all vehicles are checked for defects prior to use and such is reported immediately.

Essential Criteria

You should have held your HGV 1/C+E Licence for a minimum 2 years.
No more than 6 points no DD/ DR Code convictions
Hold a current valid DCPC Card.
Understand and able to comply with Drivers hours and WTD legislation.
Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.
Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
