My client is the UK subsidiary of one of the leading Italian furniture companies working in the luxury contract market and home division for high-end multi-apartments and residences.
My client is looking for an experienced Showroom Manager with a strong sales & design background to join its Home Division team at their flagship store in South West London.
The candidate should have a database of established clients and interior designers and will be required to manage and coordinate the showroom team and drive sales.
Together with the team, it will be required to organise the design work prior to and during the manufacturing process and manage the production of technical drawings and plans used to manufacture the furniture.
The ideal candidate shall have the following skills:
- Possess leadership qualities required to motivate, manage, and develop a high-performing team.
- Teamwork skills and organizational skills are a must.
- Sales and client-focused delivering exceptional customer service.
- Ability to improve efficiency and oversee sales budgets.
- Have a very good business acumen.
- High experience in design and furniture.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the design industry, its heritage, and culture.
Formal qualification is required, a BA (Hons) Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or Industrial Design is preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ATTRIBUTES OF ROLE:
Design Ability
- Lead the design for a variety of residential projects.
- Expertise in developing drawings, project schedules, budgets, work plans, and visual presentations to submit to clients.
- High understanding of design packages, including wardrobes, AV media units, bookcases, kitchens, as well as freestanding furniture packages.
- Manage a team able to:
- Coordinate and prepare excellent documentation for projects and provide quality assurance.
- Ensure that drawings and designs are produced on time, to a high quality, and are easy to decipher.
- Creating and maintaining the brand design/installation standards.
- Creating and maintaining libraries of CAD standard furniture details and smart blocks.
- Liaising with architects/interior designers to ensure that design intent is properly channeled through the process to meet their expectations.
Commercial/Strategic Skills
- Increase showroom performance and standards in all areas of measure.
- Set and achieve annual sales & budget cost targets.
- Increase brand awareness.
- Work in a team with the Contract & Home Retail divisions.
- Ongoing development of the showroom's customer database through data capture from the team with both new and existing customers.
Technical Skills
- Computer savvy with moderate or better skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), AutoCAD or similar, and Pgreco (training provided).
- SketchUp and Photoshop skills are a benefit.
- In-depth product knowledge of contemporary furniture.
The candidate will report to the Managing Director and work closely with the Export & Marketing Director.
