Paint Prepper - Shot blaster
Location: Rural Maidstone - ME15
Hours: Monday to Friday 39 hour week + weekly overtime available
Salary: OTE 36-42,000 (Basic salaries 25,360 - 31,433 + hours per week)

We are looking for a skilled Paint Prepper to join our production team. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role ideal for individuals with strong attention to detail and previous experience in shotblasting and preparing components for wet painting.

Key Responsibilities of a paint prepper - shot blaster:

  • Prepare fabricated parts for wet painting using techniques including shot blasting, sanding, filling, fettling, drilling, sealing, cleaning, degreasing, and masking.
  • Operate shot blast equipment to deliver a high-quality surface finish.
  • Handle and prepare components through blast processes and ensure cleanliness prior to painting.
  • Use power tools to grind, sand, and drill according to internal quality standards.
  • Mask threads and bores to protect from damage during blasting and painting.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and daily cleaning of shot blast equipment.
  • Ensure safe, damage-free handling, hanging, and packaging of components.
  • Adhere to health & safety and environmental regulations.


Essential Requirements of a paint prepper - shot blaster:

  • Previous experience in shotblasting is required.
  • Ability to work to high-quality standards with good hand-eye coordination.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety practices in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks including lifting and prolonged standing.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach to work.
