Job description

About Us

We’re a growing independent coffee and matcha shop focused on exceptional quality, warm hospitality, and thoughtful experiences. From hand-whisked matcha to crafted brunch plates and evolving into a wine-led evening concept, we’re building something truly special. We’re now looking for a dynamic Shop Manager to lead our team, uphold our high standards, and help us grow even further.

Your Role

As Shop Manager, you’ll have impact and value, working closely with and report directly to the shop owner. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the shop — leading a small team, delivering consistent quality, and building customer relationships and have freedom to shape culture, refine processes, and drive performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations and ensure smooth, efficient service across coffee, matcha, and brunch offerings.

• Manage and oversee quality of service across FOH and catering programmes.

• Hire, train, and manage baristas and front-of-house team.

• Maintain the highest standards in drink and food quality, cleanliness, and presentation.

• Monitor stock levels, place supplier orders, and reduce waste.

• Create weekly rotas, manage payroll hours, and stay within labour targets.

• Handle daily takings, and basic P&L awareness.

• Deliver a warm, engaging service — know our regulars by name.

• Uphold and enforce health & safety and food hygiene protocols.

• Contribute ideas for seasonal drinks, events, and improvements.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years café or hospitality management experience.

• Someone who understand hospitality – forming relationships with customers, community building and exceeding expectations with every interaction.

• Cares for working in a purposeful environment.

• Strong barista skills and love for quality coffee & matcha.

• Calm, organised, and able to lead by example in a fast-paced setting.

• Confident in scheduling, ordering, and team performance.

• Passion for hospitality, with an eye for detail and brand experience.

• Bonus: experience with wine, brunch, or opening/closing procedures.

What We Offer

• Competitive salary

• Opportunity to earn high quarterly bonuses to the value of £3-5k per year, to truly reward impact and drive performance

• Staff drinks and food discounts

• Opportunity to grow with the brand as we expand

• Creative input on menus, events, and shop development

• Supportive ownership that values autonomy and initiative
