About The Role Shop Manager

A day in the life of a Shop Manager will involve:

  1. Leading a team that provides a brilliant shopping experience for your customers.
  2. Working on the shop floor, coordinating activity behind the scenes; no two days are the same.
  3. Designing the perfect layout and environment that helps connect your customers to our cause.
  4. Being responsible for achieving financial targets and inducting, training, and managing new staff and volunteers.
  5. Representing the British Red Cross to a high standard and embodying our core values.

To be a successful Shop Manager, you’ll need:

  • Retail experience at supervisory level. You can deliver outstanding customer service and are comfortable with organisational and cash handling duties.
  • Proven management skills; you know how to develop and inspire your team.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, able to work towards targets and use your initiative to achieve results.
  • Proficiency in PC and IT skills.
  • A genuine understanding of and commitment to the British Red Cross cause, with skills to promote the shop as the charity retailer of choice in your community.
