Job description

Our prestigious client situated in Leith, Edinburgh is currently seeking a Shop Manager for their new Furniture site. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the furniture shop and team and will be on an on a temporary to permanent basis.

Your Time at Work
This role is 37.5 hours per week which includes some weekend work.

Any weekend work is paid at 10% uplift in pay rate.

Main Duties include:
Managing the day-to-day operations of the furniture shop and team to ensure the shop
operates effectively to achieve its maximum trading potential.

Communicating and fostering good working relations with the logistics
company regarding uplifts and deliveries, customers and the warehouse team.

Operate and develop a profitable furniture outlet store.

Raise awareness of the organization, it's brand and services in the local community.

Work with part time staff and volunteers to achieve agreed sales targets. To provide
line management assistance for the part time team and to manage all aspects of minor
disciplinary/behavioral problems should they arise.

Ensure items are correctly and competitively priced and attractively displayed

Ensure volunteers and part time staff are trained in manual handling and aspects of
the health and safety policy

Ensure a consistently high level of customer service to both customers and donors.

Investigate all possible avenues for maximizing the sale of goods

Responsible for end of the day cashing up and banking.

Manage the logistics involved with the collection and delivery of items of furniture which
will be sold

Authorized signatory for petty cash amounts
