Job summary

Cancer Research UK in Thurso is hiring a part-time Retail Store Assistant (fixed term until 25/10/2026) to join the Trading team. You’ll be the store ambassador, delivering great service and helping meet fundraising targets in a busy community store.

The role involves 15 hours per week, working on a rota basis, with training provided for keyholder responsibilities and a focus on compliance, health and safety, and store standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in busy customer service environment.
• Ability to manage workload and work independently when required.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility to cover rota-based needs.

Responsibilities

• Providing excellent customer and supporter service.
• Achieve ambitious sales and fundraising targets.
• Maintain shop standards including visual presentation, safeguarding compliance and health and safety.
• Create relationships with your local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
• Support fundraising events for your store to achieve fundraising targets.
• Take keyholder responsibility (training provided).
• There will be a varied amount of manual handling and physical activity required within the day-to-day duties of the role.
