Retail Store Assistant

£12.21 per hour plus benefits

Reports to: Shop manager

Department: Trading

Location: Newcastle-Under-Lyme (Ironmarket)

Contract: Permanent

Working hours: Part time, 15 hours per week

Role overview: We’re seeking a motivated store assistant to join Cancer Research UK’s trading team. You’ll act as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK, engaging with the community and supporting our fundraising efforts.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing excellent customer and supporter service.
  • Working as part of the shop team to achieve sales and fundraising targets.
  • Maintaining shop standards, including visual presentation, safeguarding compliance, and health and safety.
  • Building relationships with the community and colleagues.
  • Supporting fundraising events to meet targets.
  • Taking keyholder responsibilities (training provided).
  • Performing manual handling and physical activities as required.

Candidate requirements:

  • An understanding of great customer service.
  • Experience in a busy customer service environment.
  • Ability to manage workload independently.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work on a rota basis, respecting work-life balance.
