Overview

Selux Corporation is hiring a Packer for Shipping at their Highland, NY manufacturing location.

This is a full-time position with excellent, affordable medical, dental, and vision benefits, paid holidays, paid time off, and a 401k match.

Pay Rate: $17 per hour plus a $1 per hour differential.

Responsibilities

1. Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers.
2. Pack items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
3. Nail covers on wooden crates and bind containers to ensure stability.
4. Affix shipping labels on packed cartons.
5. Assist with loading items onto shipping trucks or trailers for pickup.

Qualifications

• Skilled in wrapping palettes, building palettes, cutting wood, and packing products.
• Ability to use appropriate measuring tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Previous experience in shipping and packing in a manufacturing environment.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision requirements include close vision.

Work Environment:

• Work in manufacturing and warehouse areas, exposed to a noisy environment routinely.
