Job summary

1st Executive Ltd is seeking a Logistics & Shipping Lead for a global sporting events business, supporting the Director of Logistics and involving international travel to events.

The role requires hands-on leadership of end-to-end multimodal shipping, coordination with port authorities and vessel agents, and strict adherence to safety and SOPs across on-site teams, with responsibility for budgets and compliance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Global Freight & Asset Movement: Manage end-to-end multimodal shipping lifecycle (sea, air, road) for all assets across global destinations.
• Lead with port authorities to optimise routes, resolve disruptions, and control freight budgets.
• Collaborate with vessel agents to execute master stowage plans for containers, cradles, and loose freight.
• Coordinate load/discharge schedules considering port, tidal, and geographic constraints to meet event windows.
• Own dockside SOPs to ensure safety and compliance across on-site teams.
• Oversee container loading, dispatch and unloading sequences to align with race village build and de-rig timelines.
• Manage international shipping documentation with Compliance Lead (ATA Carnets, Bills of Lading, customs declarations, permits).

This exciting role is responsible for supporting the Director of Logistics and involves global travel to the events

Key Responsibilities

• Global Freight & Asset Movement: Manage the end-to-end multimodal shipping lifecycle (sea, air, road) for all assets, ensuring safe, seamless transit across all global destinations.
• Serve as the primary operational lead with local port authorities to optimise routes, resolve real-time transit disruptions, and control freight budgets.
• Partner with vessel agents to execute master stowage plans-ensuring containers, specialized cradles, and loose freight are positioned for optimal space, weight distribution, and stability.
• Map and execute load/discharge schedules tailored to port, tidal, and geographic constraints, synchronizing quayside activities to meet tight, non-negotiable event windows.
• Own and enforce dockside Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring operational safety and strict compliance across all on-site teams.
• Oversee strict container loading, dispatch, and unloading sequences to align precisely with fast-paced race village build and de-rig timelines.
• Partner with the Compliance Lead to manage international shipping documentation, including ATA Carnets, Bills of Lading, customs declarations, and venue permits.
