Job summary

eNL is seeking a Shipping Solicitor in Newcastle to join its international team and develop expertise in shipping law. You will handle a broad range of matters, including recoveries, vessel arrests and bills of lading disputes, while advising a diverse client base such as P&I Clubs and shipping companies.

You’ll work closely with senior colleagues in a supportive environment, with hybrid working and opportunities for progression as you grow your expertise in maritime law.

Qualifications

• Applications welcomed from NQ+ Solicitors with a genuine interest in Shipping Law.
• Previous shipping/maritime experience preferred.
• Strong academics and understanding of commercial disputes.

Responsibilities

• Involved in a broad range of shipping and maritime matters including recoveries, vessel arrests and bills of lading disputes.
• Conduct sanction checks and prepare/review standard terms and conditions.
• Advise a varied client base including P&I Clubs, shipping companies, freight forwarders, ports and terminals.
• Work closely with senior colleagues on complex matters to develop expertise.

The Role

You’ll be involved in a broad range of shipping and maritime matters, including:

• Recoveries, vessel arrests and bills of lading disputes.
• Sanction checks
• Preparing and reviewing standard terms and conditions
• Advising a varied client base, including P&I Clubs, shipping companies, freight forwarders, ports and terminals.
• You’ll work closely with senior colleagues on complex matters, gaining valuable experience and developing your technical expertise.

Who are they looking for?
