Job Summary:

The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for the accurate and efficient handling of all inbound and outbound shipments. This role ensures products are received, inspected, documented, and stored correctly, while also preparing and packaging orders to meet safety, quality, and delivery standards. Working within the company’s ERP system, the associate maintains precise shipping and receiving records, coordinates with internal teams, and manages inventory of shipping materials. The position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and adherence to all company policies and safety procedures to support smooth operations across departments. The ideal candidate must be forklift certified and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This role is based at our Cambridge, Ohio location and is a fully onsite position.

Duties:

  • Receive, verify, and inspect incoming shipments against bills of lading, invoices, and packing slips; document and report damaged items or shortages.
  • Place stock items in correct storage locations after invoice verification and receive them into inventory.
  • Arrange and coordinate inbound shipments, including cores.
  • Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring all safety, security, and quality specifications are met.
  • Select appropriate shipping containers and protective materials; affix shipping labels, stamps, or identifying information.
  • Operate tools and equipment for packing, crating, and securing shipments, including strapping machines and nailing covers on wooden crates.
  • Post weights, calculate shipping charges, and update customer orders with tracking information in the ERP system.
  • Maintain accurate receiving and shipping documentation within the ERP system.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and request replenishment as needed.
  • Restock unsold products and process nonstock parts returns as directed by management. .
  • Identify and process untagged items in the work area by coordinating with relevant team members.
  • Assist other departments, including parts, during downtime or as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Experience:

  • Forklift Certification is Required – must be able to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous warehouse or inventory experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to enter data into warehouse systems.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and be coachable.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Must have a positive work ethic.
  • Ability to interact with various levels of management and customers.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.
