Job Description

We are seeking a Shift Vehicle Electrician to join our team at Olive Grove Depot in Sheffield. If you are passionate about vehicle maintenance and repair, and want to be part of an energetic team of engineers and maintenance staff, this position might be perfect for you!

Requirements include a minimum of a Level 3 NVQ qualification or equivalent (such as City & Guilds Level 1 & 2) with proven on-the-job experience. We also welcome applications from ex-military personnel with an engineering apprenticeship or experienced engineers looking to transition into this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicle faults and determine the appropriate repair methods and parts.
• Perform vehicle servicing.
• Overhaul and repair vehicle electrical systems, including engine management, gearboxes, electronic braking, suspension, electronic destinations, multiplex wiring, and ECU systems.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment such as multi-meters, temperature gauges, micrometers, vernier gauges, and ECU diagnostic tools.

We will provide PPE including overalls.

Compensation and Shift Details

Hourly Rate: £21.50

Shift Pattern: 18:00 - 06:00, 4 days on, 4 days off

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a minimum Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification.
• Be familiar with workshop equipment operation and electrical systems repair.
• Possess or be capable of obtaining a full PCV and forklift truck license if required.
